The Alpine IQ alternative that shows its prices

Search “Alpine IQ alternative” and you mostly get aggregator pages recommending tools that don’t even serve cannabis. Here is the actual alternative: a platform built only for dispensaries, priced in public from $250/mo, connected to your POS, and sending within two hours of setup.

Same store, same sends: $1,240 vs $12

One flagship store’s sending cost in its last full month on Alpine IQ was $1,240. Its first full month with us: $12. That is a 99% reduction in sending cost, not from cutting volume but from removing per-message fees and platform margin. From real invoices we computed roughly $2.47 per 1,000 emails in Alpine IQ per-email fees; modern dedicated infrastructure costs a fraction of a cent per message. Our public pricing page shows exactly what you would pay, and the savings calculator shows the percentage you would keep.

What actually replaces the template library

The core difference is where campaigns come from. Alpine IQ hands you a Templates library and a Flows builder (plus Loops, currently in beta), then leaves configuration to you, which is why an entire agency market exists to operate it. Our engine reads your store’s live data and drops designed, ready-to-send emails into a feed every morning: banner blasts lifted from your own menu site, expiring-product flash sales from METRC batch expiry, velocity-ranked new-product grids, back-in-stock alerts with “back after 12 days away” notes, best sellers with real sold counts, and win-back campaigns that detect lapsed regulars and build the matching segment automatically (899 found at one store). Every suggestion shows its “why this email” reasoning and score math before you press send. See the full roster on the auto-generated campaigns page.

Under the hood, sending runs on infrastructure you would otherwise never get at this price: two dedicated IPs per store, per-store DKIM and reverse DNS, an automated warm-up governor with safety auto-pause, and cannabis-disclosed, approved sending. That is why we measured 40.1% Gmail opens against Alpine IQ’s 19.7% on the same store. The full story is on the deliverability page. And instead of click-based guesses, attribution comes from a nightly POS ticket sync: per-campaign buyers, tickets, and verified revenue with deduped totals, available on supported POS integrations (Treez today). Details are on the attribution page.

Switching takes 2 hours, not 30 days

You do not have to rip anything out. Our Alpine IQ integration keeps your existing AIQ loyalty program running while you send through us: your existing AIQ audiences are usable on day one, suppression-filtered, with a two-way opt-out sync so unsubscribes stay compliant in both systems. Setup takes about two hours: POS connection, contact import, dedicated IPs, domain authentication, and your first send. The honest second act: full cutover runs about two weeks, because the warm-up governor moves volume to your new IPs engagement-first with automatic safety pauses. One flagship store completed a roughly 6,000-contact cutover in two weeks with Gmail deliverability parity or better. The step-by-step timeline is on the switch from Alpine IQ page.

Why not just use Klaviyo or Mailchimp?

It is the obvious question, because general-purpose email platforms are cheap and polished. But they fail dispensaries in three specific ways. First, policy risk: Klaviyo tolerates cannabis email but bans cannabis SMS outright, and Mailchimp’s acceptable-use history has repeatedly burned cannabis senders; a suspended account mid-promotion is an existential problem, not an inconvenience. Second, shared IPs: your deliverability rides on thousands of unrelated senders, and cannabis content makes you the first to be throttled. We send from dedicated IPs on our own mail servers, with sending that was approved with full cannabis disclosure. No gray area. Third, no POS brain: a generic ESP cannot know what is expiring, restocking, or selling in your store, so every campaign starts from a blank canvas. Our campaigns start from your inventory.

When Alpine IQ is still the right choice

A fair comparison cuts both ways. Alpine IQ is a healthy, capable company with real channel breadth: SMS marketing, push, voice drop, direct mail, contests, and a new AI Sales Agent product, per their own feature list. They claim 7,000+ retail locations. There are three cases where they remain the better pick today: you need SMS as a channel right now (we do not offer SMS); you need multi-step automation journeys today (their Flows product is live; ours are on the roadmap); or you run a POS we currently connect only through custom onboarding rather than a deep native integration. If none of those apply and your bill is mostly email and loyalty, get our quote next to theirs and look at the percentage.
